Terms and conditions

1. About us
Boiler Spares UK is a trading name of Acorn Gas Appliance Spares Ltd, 34 Nowell Lane, Leeds LS9 6JE. Our parts counter is at Unit 1 Burley Court, Kirkstall Road, Leeds LS4 2AR.
You can contact us on 0113 240 0920 or at sales@boilersparesuk.co.uk. In these terms “we” and “us” means Acorn Gas Appliance Spares Ltd, and “you” means the person or business placing the order.
2. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to every order placed through this website or by phone. Some sections apply differently depending on whether you are:
- a consumer: buying for your own home and not for a business, or
- a trade customer: buying for a business, including heating engineers and landlords.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
3. Prices
- Prices are shown including VAT at the current rate, with the price excluding VAT alongside for trade customers.
- Delivery is charged per order and is shown on each part page, in your basket and at checkout before you send your order.
- Some parts are listed without a price. We will quote for these when we call you, and you don’t have to go ahead.
- If a price on the website is wrong, we will tell you the correct price when we call and you can choose whether to continue.
4. How ordering works
- Sending an order through the website reserves the parts. It is not a contract and nothing is charged online.
- We will call you on the number you give us to confirm stock, price and delivery, and to take payment.
- The contract between us is made when we take payment and confirm your order. We will email you to confirm.
- We may decline an order, for example if a part is no longer available. If we do, we will tell you within one working day and you won’t be charged.
5. Checking you have the right part
Please check the part number against your old part or the appliance’s manual before ordering. If you are not sure, call us with your appliance’s make, model and GC number and we will help you identify it.
Manufacturers sometimes replace a part with a newer version under a different part number. If the part you order has been superseded, we will supply the manufacturer’s current replacement and tell you when we call.
6. Payment
We take payment by credit or debit card over the phone. Trade customers can also pay by bank transfer or cheque, and the funds must clear before we despatch. We will never ask for your card details by email, and we don’t store full card numbers.
7. Delivery
- Standard next day: orders accepted by 2pm Monday to Thursday are delivered the next working day.
- Friday: orders accepted by 2pm on Friday are delivered on Monday, or on Saturday morning if you choose the Saturday service. Orders accepted after 2pm on Friday or at the weekend are despatched on Monday.
- Other services: Express before 10:00 next day, Saturday before 12:00, and Royal Mail Special Delivery before 13:00 next working day for parcels up to 2kg. Small items can also go Royal Mail 1st class. We will tell you the price of these when we call.
- Outside mainland Great Britain: for Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands, Europe and the rest of the world, please contact us for a price.
- Missed deliveries: if nobody is available to sign for the parcel, the carrier will arrange a new date and an aborted delivery charge of £6.50 applies.
- Delays: delivery times are what our carriers aim for. We are not responsible for delays outside our control, but we will help you chase any parcel that is late.
Parts become your responsibility when they are delivered to you. They become your property once we have received payment in full.
8. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you are a consumer, you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive the parts.
- To cancel: call or email us before the 14 days are up. You don’t have to give a reason.
- Sending parts back: return the parts within 14 days of telling us you are cancelling. Unless the parts are faulty or not what you ordered, you pay the cost of returning them.
- Your refund: we will refund the price of the parts and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the parts back, or of you showing us proof that you sent them, whichever is sooner. If you chose a faster delivery service, we only refund the standard delivery charge.
- Used or fitted parts: you can inspect parts as you would in a shop. If a part has been fitted, or handled more than is needed to inspect it, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in its value. This can be up to the full price if it can no longer be sold as new, which is often the case for electrical parts and PCBs once installed.
9. Faulty, damaged or wrong parts
If a part arrives damaged, is faulty, or isn’t what you ordered, contact us and we will arrange a replacement, a repair or a refund. Please refuse any parcel that looks damaged, and tell us about short, incorrect or damaged deliveries by email within five days of receiving them so we can claim from the carrier. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.
If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you the following rights:
- Within the first 30 days you can reject a faulty part for a full refund.
- After that, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that fails, to a refund or a price reduction.
Citizens Advice can tell you more about these rights.
10. Returns for trade customers
Please contact us for a returns authorisation before sending anything back, and include a copy of the invoice or delivery note. We can only accept parts returned unused, in their original undamaged packaging and in a saleable condition. PCBs and electrical parts can’t be returned once opened unless they are faulty. A restocking charge may apply to parts that were ordered in error or are no longer needed. We will tell you the amount before you send them.
11. Warranty
Replacement parts carry a 12-month warranty from the date of despatch, on top of your legal rights. To claim, contact us with your invoice or order reference.
The warranty doesn’t cover parts that have been fitted incorrectly, used for a purpose they weren’t designed for, damaged, or tampered with.
Gas safety: by law, work on gas appliances in the UK must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
12. Our responsibility to you
We don’t exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
- Consumers: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses.
- Trade customers: we are not liable for any of the following:
- loss of profit, business or revenue
- indirect or consequential loss
- labour costs of removing or fitting parts
- wasted expenditure
13. Product information
Part descriptions, numbers and the appliance models they fit come from manufacturers’ information and are correct to the best of our knowledge. Photos are for illustration and the part supplied may look slightly different. Manufacturers can change specifications without notice.
14. Your information
We use your details only to process and deliver your order. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your information.
15. Complaints and the law
If you are unhappy with anything, contact us first on 0113 240 0920 or at sales@boilersparesuk.co.uk and we will try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown here on the day you place it.
